The Terrain Park at C.O.P.
The Source sponsors the snowboard
park at Canada Olympic Park, on the edge of northwest Calgary.
Featuring the largest half-pipe in the world, Canada Olympic Park offers snowboarders one of the best terrain parks around. Designed for progression, the terrain park at C.O.P. contains over 20 jib features and several jump lines featuring alternate take-offs for all ability levels.
The intermediate jump line includes four consecutive 15' to 20' jumps
with small elevated takeoffs. There are both surface level and air
on rail features in this line.
The advanced line consists of large
tables, step up, and step down jumps ranging in size from 30' to
40'. The table jumps also have optional medium-sized takeoffs that
are
25' and less elevated than the bigger jumps. The advanced jib features
include a 30' street style rail, a flat up flat, and large down
flat down rail. The variety of the park features allows for progression from 10'
to 40' jumps and from small surface level jibs up to the larger street
style rails.
22' Super-Pipe
The highlight of the Park is the 22-foot Olympic caliber half-pipe that will act at the test model for the Vancouver 2010 feature to be built in Cypress Bowl next summer.
The half-pipe is cut every night by a special Zaugg groomer to ensure riders are offered the best pipe conditions all the time.
