Profile: Pure Pop Camber
Shortcut the learning curve with an all-around board that's catch-free with just enough pop for boosting confidence anywhere you take it.
Some riders just want to get straight to the fun part. Enjoy a no-fuss feel with the men's Burton Instigator Snowboard, a board designed to help accelerate the learning curve and instigate a good time from your first moment on the mountain. The Channel® mounting system gives you the easiest, most adjustable setup with bindings from all major brands (not just Burton's).
Super Fly 800g Core: Super Fly 800G Core is a dual-species wood core that is loaded with pop and alternates between hard and soft woods to reduce overall weight without limiting performance.
Twin Flex: Twin Flex is perfectly symmetrical from tip to tail for a balanced ride that's equally versatile regular or switch.
Dualzone EGD: Engineered wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges on two continuous zones perpendicular to the core for more edge-hold, response, and strength.
Biax Fiberglass: Biax Fiberglass features a jib-friendly, torsionally soft flex and a forgiving feel that's great for beginning riders or the park.
The Channel®: The Channel Board Mount is designed to help dial in the perfect stance and is compatible with all major bindings.
5mm Taper: Taper makes for easy turning, providing the feel and focus of a directional board without anything holding you back from riding it like a twin.
Wide: A wider waist width for those with larger footprints. Recommended for boot sizes 11.5+
Pure Pop Camber
Precision, control and pop.
The side profile of camber looks like a rainbow. Tried and true, camber has been the dominant board bend in the snowboard industry for almost 40 years. Adopted from the bend of alpine skis, camber snowboards deliver precise turning and edge control, with spring-loaded pop due to the bend in the board, providing better jumping characteristics. The PurePop Camber Bend features additional subtle flat zones to amplify pop and add playfulness.
A smooth, reliable ride.
Directional shapes generally feature a longer, softer nose and a shorter, stiffer tail. These shapes thrive in an all-mountain environment, as they possess the ability to ride more smoothly than their twin-tip counterparts and behave more reliably in variable snow conditions, anywhere from choppy snow to deeper powder. More twin-looking directional shapes where the difference between nose and tail appear minimal will perform best as crossover freestyle snowboards for those looking to still access the park, while more exaggerated differences will excel for additional float in deep powder.
