The West is a different kind of animal. This dynamic snowboard has become one of our most popular models. Our aggressive enhanced Ripsaw Rocker Camber Profile, NS SuperLight Wood Core, and mid flex, makes the West extremely powerful yet agile. Directional performance balanced for freestyle mobility, the West is equally at home ripping quick turns, slashing pow or catching air. Versatility as expansive as the land itself.
The PREMIUM TOPSHEETS are our very durable, lightweight, scratch and chip resistant fiber backed thermoplastic. The premium topsheets also provide more grip than other topsheet materials, working as a built in stomp pad. These premium topsheet materials include our Carbonium Topsheet, Matte Topsheet and TruGrit Topsheet.
CARBON VXR LAMINATE
CARBON VXR extends carbon fiber V's out from the inserts to the effective edge for quick response while stiffening the board torsionally. Additionally, V's are positioned to the ends of the board providing maximum boost and pop when loaded up. This is an ideal layup to transfer energy to the end of the effective edge, tip/tail and still give the board a softer more forgiving mid-flex for torsional control.
RIPSAW ROCKER CAMBER
Features enhanced cambered areas for aggressive edge hold and tremendous pop while maintaining the versatility of Original Rocker Camber.
VARIO POWER GRIP SIDECUT
VARIO POWER GRIP SIDECUT utilizes multiple radiuses creating extra contact points to enhance edge hold. A flat section in the rocker area provides a broad contact point when flexed, however when unbent allows the board to track straight and not catch. Flanking this straight section are two shallow radiuses which provide the second and third contact points. Towards the ends of the sidecut are deep radiuses which render quick turn initiation and the final contact points. The Chairman Power Grip Sidecut has two more radiuses for additional edge hold.
A small, flat section in the snowboard profile that improves both turn initiation and powder floatation.
LOW PROFILE TIP/TAIL
A low profile in the nose and tail of the snowboard maximizes material contact with the snow for more powerful ollie/nollie pop and adds stability to your landings. LOW PROFILE TIP/TAIL also reduces the plowing effect in the nose for better glide to the next feature and superior float when it’s deep.
STS PRETENSIONED FIBERGLASS
The world’s best snowboard fiberglass, period. Never Summer's STS PRE-TENSIONED FIBERGLASS is an advanced pre-hardened, pre-tensioned, layered laminate that has added elastomer stringers between the 0 degree and 90 degree glass fibers (the length of the effective edge). This produces a stronger bond between the individual glass laminates giving our snowboards unmatched strength, edge hold and performance.
BI-LITE FIBERGLASS combines many of the strength characteristics of our STS fiberglass with an ultra light glass fiber matrix. This delivers incredible freestyle and freeride performance without sacrificing durability.
NS SUPERLIGHT WOOD CORE
Using a custom blend of wood species that was created to be the lightest weight yet durable core on the market. Our NS SUPERLIGHT WOOD CORE is CNC sanded in our custom wood working facility to a fraction of a millimeter. A tailored flex is perfected, giving our snowboards unequaled performance.
RDS 2 DAMPING SYSTEM
This lightweight system uses three narrower laminated damping layers that provide the perfect combination of vibration, absorption, and stability. RDS 2 is the perfect balance of freeride stability and freestyle liveliness.
ELASTOMERIC UNDERFOOT STABILIZERS
ELASTOMERIC UNDERFOOT STABILIZERS directly below the mounting area provide optimum vibration absorption and increase high-speed stability while reducing foot fatigue.
SINTERED P-TEX SIDEWALL
Never Summer was the first snowboard company to use and perfect SINTERED P-TEX SIDEWALLS, and we’ve never seen one crack. Unlike conventional ABS sidewalls, that have a tendency to crack in colder temperatures, Sintered P-tex Sidewalls maintain their integrity at any temperature.
DURASURF XT SINTERED 5501 BASE
Crown Plastics has developed an exclusive, super fast, durable sintered base specifically for our higher end boards. Just the right amount of graphite has been added making the DURASURF XT SINTERED 5501 BASE the fastest we’ve ever used.
The classic. Nothing is quite like the crispness, power and precision of camber at higher speeds. Ideal for aggressive riders and traditionalists.
The all-round performer. Far and away, this is our best-selling platform. Ultimate versatility comes from blending both rocker and camber traits to get a balance that offers both the stability of camber and the easy ride of rocker. Some boards in this category fall closer to a camber feel, while others ride a little looser like a rocker board. Find your balance and get a board here that does it all.
Flat from contact point to contact point for control and stability with a catch-free feel
Like waking up at noon on summer holiday. Rocker boards feature a reverse camber lay-up that is less-catchy, turns easier and sends the fun factor/high-five frequency into the stratosphere. These boards generally offer a more forgiving ride which is ideal for newer/casual riders, jibbing and easy style pow hounds alike.
Do it ALL. Wanna grab some pow turns up top, scream down a mid-mountain groomer and then hit the park at the bottom? THESE are your boards. Our best-selling configuration. Generally an all-mountain twin-tip, directional twin or minimal directional shape that’s poised to do it all.
Tech freestyle supremacy. These twin tip boards generally feature a slightly softer flex and shorter contact points which make for boards that are slightly more maneuverable but still have the landing gear you need to grease park laps day-in and day-out. If park laps and hit runs are your jam, then this is where you live. If that last sentence didn’t make sense, it’s best not to look here.
Parks are where I walk my dog, the mountain is where I snowboard. Pow/Freeride boards quite often offer a distinct directional shape, featuring a tapering shape designed to provide the smoothest ride out on the mountain—whether it’s first chair on a pow day or late afternoon when it’s all bombed out. With options that range from resort freeride, slackcountry through to backcountry, the pow/freeride category is your go-to for riders not looking to ride the park and capitalize on the rest of the mountain.
Narrower widths mean lightning fast edge transfers and less fatigue for riders that have smaller feet. Suggested for all women’s sizes and Men’s 8.5 and below. Look for waist widths that are below 25cms.
Regular widths offer only critical measurements that will kill toe-heel drag, but also maintain proper response to keep turns quick and agile while not tiring you out. Ideal for rider with US Men’s 9-11.5 feet. Look for board widths that are 25-25.5 cm wide, going wider as foot sizes get bigger.
Anyone with a size 12+ boot can tell you—toe/heel drag sucks. Kill the culprit with a wider waist board and get the freedom to turn as hard as you want. Riders with 12+ boot sizes will want to look at boards with waist width of an absolute minimum of 25.6cm and go up from there—going wider as foot sizes get bigger.
