Profile: Directional Camber

Terrain: Groomers/Pow

Response: Medium

The Mini Mind Expander is a unique surf-inspired shred stick built for youth with the skills to draw creative lines down the mountain. Designed by surf shaper Chris Christenson and Jeremy Jones, the Mini Mind Expander features a Christenson surf rocker profile and a blunted nose for epic float in pow plus a full sized tail for legit freestyle performance. The unique shape is matched with a short sidecut for snappy turn performance and a little wider waist width so the board can be ridden shorter. Youth who can confidently link turns and are looking to blaze their own tracks into the powder deserve this board. For added speed chasing after full grown rippers, the Mini Mind Expander is also built with our ultra fast and durable Sintered 8000 base.

Features:

3D Base Contour 1.0: Subtle yet effective 3D Contour Base featuring an even balance of 2mm spoon bevel in the nose and 2mm spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts just after the rocker point.

Directional Flex Pattern: Off set tip-to-tail flex pattern that is designed for directional freeride boards. The nose, center of board and tail are slightly different stiffnesses to help lift the nose, sink the tail and improve stability at speed.

V-Core: Jones exclusive wood core profiling that offers a stable and playful board feel. The wood core is softer between the feet for easy turn initiation and stiffer in the nose and tail for stability riding through uneven terrain and landing airs.

Blunt Nose: "How a board glides in powder, crust, corn or any snow more than an inch deep, is dictated by it’s front contact point and just past it. Next time you are in soft snow watch how much snow comes over the corner of the nose near the contact point. The billowing snow coming out from behind the tip means you are plowing through it which is obviously slowing you down. By adding a blunt nose you get the float benefits of a much longer nose without the ‘snow plow’ rounded tip and it’s extra swing weight." - Jeremy Jones

Traction Tech 1.0: Like a serrated knife slicing into the snow, Traction Tech improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of your board.

Progressive Sidecut: At the far ends of the sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.

Classic Core: Premium poplar core for pop, durability, and even flex.

Eco Plastic Topsheet: Bio-plastic topsheet made from castor beans. An eco material that is ultralight, chip/scratch resistant, and water/snow repellant meaning snow sticks less to your topsheet!

Sintered 8000 Base: Super durable material made from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMw-PE) and carbon. This makes it easily repairable, highly wax absorbent, so it's wicked fast.

Biax Fiberglass: A dual-direction, dual-layer, stitched fiberglass laminate providing a fun, forgiving, snappy ride.

Oversized Recycled Edges: Added durability and improved production sustainability.

Recycled Rounded ABS: Rounded sidewall finish that improves board durability by protecting topsheet from chipping.

Bio Resin: A bio-based epoxy made with 27% plant-based carbon instead of petroleum-based carbon. The organic materials used to make it are waste products of plant-based industrial processes. They require 33% less greenhouse gas emissions to produce than conventional epoxy.

Wend Natural Wax: Factory waxed with natural wax.

Forever Flex: Helps with stabilizing the flex and rocker of a board for its lifetime.

Profile:

Surf Rocker

The ultimate surfy feel for stable landings and maximum float for pow days.

Zero camber insert to insert with rocker in the nose and tail. The flat portion of the board is set back onto a smaller tail, providing stable riding and landings. The extended rocker in the nose makes for a gorgeous, surfy float in deeper snow.

Shape:

Directional

A smooth, reliable ride.

Directional shapes generally feature a longer, softer nose and a shorter, stiffer tail. These shapes thrive in an all-mountain environment, as they possess the ability to ride more smoothly than their twin-tip counterparts and behave more reliably in variable snow conditions, anywhere from choppy snow to deeper powder. More twin-looking directional shapes where the difference between nose and tail appear minimal will perform best as crossover freestyle snowboards for those looking to still access the park, while more exaggerated differences will excel for additional float in deep powder.

Flex:

7 (Scale 1-10)

Versatility at its finest. From the park to the peak and anywhere in between.

Base:

Sintered

High-end base material that is harder, more durable, and faster than extruded bases.
