From icy runs to amazing pow days, the Story is a directional, all-mountain beast. The stiffened, slightly tapered tail and basalt stringers make for a lightweight, smooth and snappy ride. Combined with MAGNE-TRACTION® along the edges, a multi-camber profile, and a setback stance - you’ve got a board that can tackle the entire mountain. With its blend of amazing eco-friendly technologies and newly updated shape for increased all-mountain dominance, the award-winning Story is a beautifully different kind of deck.
- Magne-Traction ®: Extra edge contact points to give your board more edge control and stability, especially in icy conditions.
- Basalt Stringers: Used to replace carbon fiber because of its similar characteristics, it’s also more eco-friendly!
- Snappy Sap Bio Resin: More elastic and snappier than normal resin. Dampens vibrations, extremely high adhesion properties to help keep your board from delaminating.
- Digi-Print Topsheet: Direct digital print, lacquer free, matte finish topsheet.
- Water-Based Inks: Non-toxic solvent-free. UV-based ink.
- Recycled Materials: Recycled bases, sidewalls and edges.
- Sustainable Wood Cores: Locally sourced, FSC Certified wood cores.
Like the name suggests, hybrid profiles are a mix of camber, flat and rocker. There are heaps of different combinations of this employed by snowboard manufacturers. The rocker in the tip and tail are great for turn initiation and float in powder, whilst the camber underfoot adds stability, pop and increased edge-hold. You get the edge-hold you need from the camber section underfoot and the float in powder from the rocker sections.
The pop and edge control of regular camber, with the float of reverse camber. Optimal versatility in all types of terrain. A camber medley, which gives you the benefits of reverse camber, while maintaining optimum pop and control it reverse camber between your feet, and camber zones extending to the contact points for a super loose, catch-free feel.
Directional boards typically have a longer, pointier nose, with a stance set back towards the tail. This makes them better suited to riding forwards. These boards will carve well on the piste and plough easily through powder – since the short tail naturally sinks while the large nose floats over the snow.
Powder-specific models will often deploy a so-called ‘swallow tail’ to accentuate the effect.
