TLS Twin Lacing System

EVA Midsole: Used on all boots with rubber outsoles, the EVA midsole reduces the overall weight and provides cushioning and thermal insulation.

E-Foam Toe Protection: Light, extreme walking comfort. E-foam is an innovatice material, ver y light yet, at the same time, extremely resistant to abrasion. It has been conceived as an ecologic alternative to rubber and PVC, it grants a better protection for the foot and it extends the life of the boot.

Molded TLS Lace Handles: Comfortable, and easy on the hands. 

Bail Out System: Designed to make unlacing the TLS system even easier. This pull tab that is placed in the middle of the TLS lacing system on the outside of the boot allows for effortless unlacing and recording breaking speeds for taking your boots off.

45 Degree Laceglider: This precision-molded low-friction plastic insert is positioned at the crucial 45° lacing position in the ankle area. It drastically reduces lace friction and makes tying up your TLS system even easier.

Flex Link Design: A flexible panel at the ankle between the upper and lower shell ensures an even flexing, responsive boot without the bulk.

Hike 'n' Ride Construction: A construction specifically made for making the transition and per formance between hike and ride mode easier and more beneficial for the rider (together with the forward lean adjustment and auto power strap). Hike mode offers a softer flex and ride mode is more responsive and rigid flex.

Therminator Shield: This thermal layer between sole and liner will reflect your body heat and keep your feet warm all day.

Moulded Spine Protection: A flexible molded spine made of a TPR compound that is softer to allow for an even pressured lace closure, while providing medium flex and durability to the shape and spine of the boot.

Internal Ankle Support: An anatomically shaped molded plate distributes lace pressure over the instep/ankle area: More comfort and a better, more precise fit.

ILS Liner Lacing: The ILS system features a lacing harness firmly connected to the boot shell. This harness snugly wraps around the liner, securing it in the shell and providing precise lacing and fit. Nitro's engineered ILS laces provide less friction and a Dyneema® core for added strength.

Re/Lace Liner Locker: A lace locker built into the tongue of the boot for a snug and easy to operate closure. Allows you to easily make midday adjustments on the chair or peak without having to undo your outer laces!

Ortholite® Dual Density Footbed: Fit, comfort, moisture management, energy return. Nitro developed dual density footbeds with Otholite® for support and comfort. Ortholite® compresses less than 5% with excellent levels of shock absorption and energy return. Top notch control and cushioning.

Heat Mouldable Liner: Yes, Nitro's Cloud Liners are constructed from Thermacell material, using Nitro specific lasts and our signature Latex Heel Pads. This ensures long lasting fit and comfort without fatigue. While this is not necessary, all our liners can be thermomolded for an even more custom fit. Specific heating system and tools are available.

Easy lace engagement and release, combined with the low abrasion of Nitro's Dyneema® laces are the key factors of this highly reliable zonal lacing system. At the same time, the TLS features compact size and low weight while maintaining the reliability proven by tens of thousands of days on the mountain. Even though rarely needed, servicing and replacement of all parts including the lace are easier than with any other system on the market. Even using a standard lace if you‘re in a pinch is an option only available on Nitro‘s TLS boots. Easy-entry handle storage pockets as well as our Bail Out system for easier entry and exit round off the most developed dual lacing system on the market.

Cloud 8 Liner

Featuring prre-moulded Thermacell for minimum weight and maximum comfort, re/lace liner, latex memory pads for a lifetime heel fit. The flex toe box expands for a custom toe box fit and the dual density Ortholite® footbed boasts top notch control and cushioning.

Vibram grip and traction and an Eco-friendly approach: here is the new sole of NITRO …. made of Vibram® ECOSTEP™ Compound, an eco-friendly recycled rubber compound developed by Vibram® and made up to 50% of recycled rubber. The rubber scrap generated by Vibram’s production process is recycled in order to produce Vibram® Ecostep compound. It ’s a High-quality compound formulation, which offers a very good Vibram grip and traction on snow while preserving the environment through the waste reduction.
