BEHIND THE PRODUCT
BEHIND THE PRODUCT
The intention for the XY was to blend the masculine with the feminine. The width is for deep carving, the length is ideal for deeper conditions and steeper terrain, the side-cut is meant to feel natural and gentle from turn to turn and the nose and tail are designed to maximize all of these features.
A board that can smile at the devil, glide smoothly at high speeds and gently caress every curve of the mountain.
The new scaled down model of Alex Yoder's XY (153sm). It inherits the unique riding feel of the original XY on both groomers and powder alike, but in a more compact package. With the new bottom profile specifically designed for this model, it allows more freedom of control in 3D terrain for smaller riders still being able to enjoy the smooth signature turns and deep carves of the XY.
Although being a little more compact, the relatively large sidecut radius combined with the bottom contour allow it to charge down lines in high speed and thread through tight treeruns. It is similar to the original Mantaray 154 in size, but has a very unique character of its own.

In-depth Tech Specs:
- Profile: Accel Camber - GENTEMSTICK’s radical Accel Camber eliminates hooking and prevents nosedives in deep powder or fresh snow, while maintaining a natural floatation. It is designed and shaped to perform its best when the rider stands neutrally on top of the board. It's made flat from the widest point of the nose to the front foot. The arch begins there and reaches the highest around the back foot, and it ends at the widest point of the tail. When a rider stands on the board, the arch gets pushed and the area ahead of the front foot barely touches the snow. This is the position that maximizes the performance of the board, and also the same position that reaches maximum velocity in ski races and other speed competitions. The GENTEMSTICK Accel camber boards are distinctly designed, especially from the point where the camber ends to the widest point of the nose, with the focus to reduce resistance.
- Shape: Directional Tapered - Directional tapered boards excel in a pure mountain environment. The tail sinks in pow for better float and quicker turns. A directional shape with a longer, softer nose and a shorter, stiffer tail get taken to the next level with a tapering design—which sees a wider nose tapering into a narrower tail. The advantages are two-fold: this shape not only sees mega-enhanced floatation with a surfy feel in deep powder, it also creates a faster turning snowboard which is noticeably more nimble and great for tree riding.
- Flex: 6 Versatility at its finest. From the trees to the pow and anywhere in between.
