The Storm Chaser Split unlocks access to those remote frozen swells and packs insane float into a short, but still high volume splitboard. The ultra-wide waist width maximizes the float of the shortened running length and the Surf Rocker profile pops the nose even further out of the snow when you step on the gas. The Storm Chaser’s short sidecut will have you ripping tight tree runs like a GS course on even the deepest days. The unique shape is matched with Inner/Outer Traction Tech 1.0 edges for enhanced grip on icy skintracks or firm descents and the Boltless Bridge plus Karakoram Ultra Clips and Tip-Lock Tip Clips for unmatched torsional board connection in ride mode. New for 21/22, the Storm Chaser Split is now equipped with the smaller and lighter Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0.

Features:

Directional Flex Pattern: Off set tip-to-tail flex pattern that is designed for directional freeride boards. The nose, center of board and tail are slightly different stiffnesses to help lift the nose, sink the tail and improve stability at speed.

V-Core: Jones exclusive wood core profiling that offers a stable and playful board feel. The wood core is softer between the feet for easy turn initiation and stiffer in the nose and tail for stability riding through uneven terrain and landing airs.

Inside & Outside Traction Tech 1.0: Like a serrated knife slicing into the snow, Traction Tech improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of your board.

Progressive Sidecut: At the far ends of the sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.

ECO-Plastic Topsheet: Bio-plastic topsheet made from castor beans. An eco material that is ultralight, chip/scratch resistant, and water/snow repellant meaning snow sticks less to your topsheet!

Control Split Core: Full premium dual density wood core featuring a paulownia to poplar 2:1 stringer ratio keeping the core light, but ultra damp. Designed specifically for splitboards.

Sintered 8000 Base: Super durable material made from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMw-PE) and carbon. This makes it easily repairable, highly wax absorbent, so it's wicked fast.

Biax Fiberglass: A dual-direction, dual-layer, stitched fiberglass laminate providing a fun, forgiving, snappy ride.

Oversized Recycled Edges: Added durability and improved production sustainability.

Recycled Black ABS: ABS Plastic is one of the necessary evils of snowboard production. Jones improve the sustainability of their snowboards by using only recycled plastic.

Bio Resin: A bio-based epoxy made with 27% plant-based carbon instead of petroleum-based carbon. The organic materials used to make it are waste products of plant-based industrial processes. They require 33% less greenhouse gas emissions to produce than conventional epoxy.

Wend Natural Wax: Factory waxed with natural wax.

Forever Flex: Helps with stabilizing the flex and rocker of a board for its lifetime.

Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0 with Tip-Lock: Redesigned Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0 are lighter weight, clamp tighter and have a smaller footprint than the original Ultra clip. They are also adjustable so you can maintain even compression as your splitboard ages.

Boltless Bridge: The Boltless Bridge eliminates split clip attachment hardware from the base of the board by re-profiling the wood core at the clips. The wood core under the clips is thicker providing better torsional stifness and a more powerful connection at the split clips

Surf Rocker

A custom tip/tail rocker profile designed by the surf shaper himself, Chirs Christenson. The nose rocker begins just inside the front inserts and the tail rocker starts just at the back inserts. When you sit back/add weight on the tail of the board, the nose ramps up and lifts out of the snow for insane float on the deepest days.

A smooth, reliable ride.

Directional shapes generally feature a longer, softer nose and a shorter, stiffer tail. These shapes thrive in an all-mountain environment, as they possess the ability to ride more smoothly than their twin-tip counterparts and behave more reliably in variable snow conditions, anywhere from choppy snow to deeper powder. More exaggerated differences will excel for additional float in deep powder. The fish tail on this board makes it one of the backcountries finest.
